Create a Home Advent Wreath

11.17.20

Throughout this year our homes have become a beautiful space of worship for each of us and our families. As we move into this season of Advent we are continuing to worship with one another in a hybrid experience, both at home and in person. During worship each Sunday of Advent we will light candles on the Advent wreath which represent hope, peace, joy and love. This year we invite all of you to join us in this powerful experience by creating an Advent wreath of your own at home, which you can light along with us as you worship online. It can be as elaborate or as randomly put together as you would like. The basic configuration is five candles total, four in a circle and one inside the circle to represent Christ. We would love for you to share with us pictures of the wreaths you and your family have created at home and join us at the beginning of each worship service as we join together in the Advent candle lighting liturgy. Here you will find a picture of a DIY Advent wreath as well as a video of how to make one of your own!
