Have you felt darkness in your life? Are you in the midst of darkness right now?
We all encounter pain at different points in our lives. The pain comes from different places and takes different shapes. This pain can change us and shape us. It can also bring upon darkness.
Some of you may know how Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday compose part of the days called the “Paschal Triduum.” These three days are marked with liturgy that tell the story of Jesus’ last week.
Jesus is the one who is rejected, and the rejection of Jesus becomes the cornerstone of God’s good news. The cross, a symbol of violence, becomes a symbol of what God will do with all the violence of the world.
