Every Sunday, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
We have some news to share with you, and we are super excited! 2021 Confirmation classes begin this January! This Zoom group is open to all current seventh graders who are interested in being confirmed in the United Methodist Church.
What is Confirmation?
United Methodists use the term "confirmation" to mark the first time a baptized Christian publicly "confirms" their intention to live the vows of the baptismal and membership covenant and so becomes a professing member of the local congregation and The United Methodist Church. Simply put, Confirmation is a time of learning that allows you to grow in your faith as well as take ownership of your spiritual journey.
I am not baptized. Can I still participate in Confirmation classes?
Absolutely! You are welcome to participate in Confirmation classes even if you have not been baptized. There are no prerequisites. We only ask that you come with a desire to learn more about your faith. If, after attending classes you decide you do want to be confirmed, we will baptize as well as confirm you on Confirmation Sunday.
I am not in seventh grade, but I want to be Confirmed.
No worries! There are other confirmation class options for older students and adults. Please, contact Abigail Herrington for more information.
Is there a fee associated with the class?
Yes, we ask that every student pay $75 to help cover the cost of student Bible, workbook, canvas book bag and t-shirt.
I am a parent. How can I help?
We would love to have you volunteer with this group! (Plus, we need you!) At least two unrelated, Safe Sanctuary adults are required to be at every meeting. Please, contact Abigail Herrington if you are interested.
