NEW STUDIES ON SUNDAY MORNINGS BEGINNING JANUARY 10, 2010
"Big Dummies of the Bible"
Sunday mornings at 11:00 in Hallelujah Center Room 9
Led John Byrd
Have you ever done something so dumb you wince at the thought of it? Well, you're not alone. The Bible is full of characters who made some shockingly dumb moves. In Big Dummies of the Bible, bestselling author Stephen Miller shows readers some shockingly dumb moves by men and women of the Bible. Yet thousands of years later, we're still making the same mistakes, and the results often turn out to be as grievous now as they were for these biblical characters. Miller teaches us how to avoid these mistakes and the inevitable accompanying pain and heartache. Adults of all ages, singles or couples, are invited to join the ROUNDTABLE discussion of this book.
This Too Shall Pass, A Study for Parents of Teens
Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM in the Hallelujah Center Room 7
Led by Pastor Robin
Did you ever wonder what was truly inside the head of a teenager? Why in the world do they act the way they do? Science has shown that there are atually physiological reasons for some of the actions of teens and that their brain continues to develop and change for decades. This class will explore what is inside the teenage brain and how this can help us as parents of teens.
We will then read and discuss This Too Shall Pass by Kel Groseclose. He offers encouragement for parents who sometimes doubt their teenager was created in the image of God. Through the use of humor, Groseclose makes suggestions to help parents learn to be more patient, to handle the sturggles gracefully, and to cherish the teen years for the special time that they are.
