Layette Kits Needed

On Mother’s Day give a gift of love to mothers and babies. The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) warehouse needs about 67,000 kits to get their inventory back to the level necessary to be prepared for the next disaster. The kits provide basic supplies for infants in places where life has been disrupted by war or natural disaster. The Outreach Committee is collecting kits in the narthex on May 11 and May 18.

Layette Kit

6 cloth diapers
2 shirts or 2 one-piece body suits
2 baby washcloths
 2 gowns or sleepers
2 diaper pins (the kind with plastic on one end)
1 sweater open in the front
2 receiving blankets
$3.00 for shipping

Bundle the items inside one of the receiving blankets and secure with the diaper pins. We will also accept supplies in bulk instead of complete kits.
All items must be new. UMCOR will not allow any substitutions.

Summer Theatre Workshop 2008

Auditions for “Alice in Wonderland”:
Grades 7-12*: Friday, May 30, 7-9 PM
Grades 2-6*: Saturday, May 31, 10 AM to Noon

Fee: $65 per child, made payable to FUMC Keller, due at the audition. Come prepared to sing a song of your choosing without accompaniment and prepare a brief (no more than 2 min.) monologue. All who audition will have a part in the play.

Parents’ Meeting: Monday, July 7, 7 PM

Workshop Dates:
July 28-August 1, 9:00-Noon
August 4-8, 9:00-Noon
August 11-13 (Tech), 6:00-9:00 PM

Performance Dates: August 14, 15, 16

Wednesday Night Life

Dinner Served 5:30 to 6:30 PM
Menu for May 7: Spaghetti and meatballs, dessert and drink

No reservations necessary. Please come for dinner even if you do not attend a class or choir rehearsal. On May 7th the Connections Youth Choir and Joyful Noise Ringers will present a special concert for your pleasure during the WNL dinner hour.

Acolyte Training May 7 at 6:30 PM
Children in 3rd through 5th grades are invited to meet in the music room for a refresher of their roles in worship, and we will go over some changes that will take effect May 11. This is a also great opportunity to join this ministry. We will make ice cream sundaes to celebrate this year of service.

New! "Step by Step" Sunday School Class
A new class for parents with small children meets Sunday mornings at 11:00 in room 101. On May 11 and 18 we will look at birth order. Ever wonder if the birth order of your children has anything to do with their personalities? How does birth order (yours and your child’s) affect how you parent?

New! Evening UMW Circle
Please join us on Thursday, May 15 from 6:30-8 PM at the Hallelujah Center for a meet and greet and a general overview of the United Methodist Women's ministry. Snacks and nursery care provided. Youth News You Can Use!

Graduates! We will be hosting our Graduation Breakfast May 25th at 8:15 in the FLC. We will also recognize you in the 9:30 and 11:00 services that morning and present you with a gift. Please RSVP to chrisj@kellerumc.org for the breakfast.

Breakfast and Mountasia PlayDay is Saturday, May 31st. We will meet early in the morning at church and have a morning and afternoon of fun.
