More About the Resource Center
The prayer garden at Keller United Methodist Church is a tranquil place of retreat, conducive to prayer, reflection and communion with God in creation. The garden is open to the community, so that all might experience God's presence.
If you wish to purchase an item as a memorial, plaques or markers may be purchased to designate your intention. Most of the following donation opportunities are listed in total cost. Of course, partial donations towards a feature will be accepted.
Engraved Pathway Bricks- $60
These pave our "Walk of Faith" through the garden. Bricks may be engraved with your name, favorite scripture or you may choose to commemorate a special event, or to memorialize or honor someone. Bricks are 4"x 8" and may contain up to three lines of copy with no more than 20 characters per line. Special character symbols (such as a cross) may be engraved for an additional $20.
Helen Trimarchi Community Garden
The seed is the word of God. - Luke 8:11
The Helen Trimarchi Community Garden at Keller United Methodist Church was started in January, 2016. Our purpose is to connect church members and the community as we learn, nurture the earth and teach gardening techniques. By donating a portion of our produce to the community, we help all involved experience God’s love and grace.
Since 2016 we have expanded the garden from four raised garden beds to sixteen raised beds, two trellis beds, one strawberry bed donated by Girl Scout Troop 3362 and one metal tank garden bed. We have donated approximately 1,000 pounds of produce to the Keller Senior Citizen Center over the past three years.
We are inviting local community members who are interested in gardening as well as our church family to garden with us.
You might want to rent a garden bed ($25 annual fee) if you:
- would like to learn how to garden
- know how to garden, but need a space to do it
- would like to meet people interested in gardening
- would like to help provide food for yourself and others in the community
- would just like to dig in the dirt!
Who is Helen Trimarchi?
Helen Trimarchi was a member of Keller United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She had a love for missions, particularly our sister church in Slovakia. UMW initiated this project to keep her memory alive and to express gratitude for her service. Memorial gifts in her honor funded the first four garden beds. Interested in gardening with us?
